Why this course?
Summary of the lesson
The topic "Peer Pressure" is about the kind of influence friends have in our life. This influence can be positive or negative. It is essential not to get pressured by peers and give into doing something that isn't good for them. To help the child understand this concept, we did some case studies, discussed real-life experiences, and put the child through challenging situations to derive their decision.
What your child will learn
How is it going to help your child
Parental role & play
Motivate by giving personal examples: You can talk to your child about a few real-life instances that happened to you and how they affected your decisions and life. Tell them that it’s okay to say “NO” and nobody will judge you. If you reason with your friends, they will understand your point of view.
Try it out: If your child comes across a similar situation, ask them to think about the pros and cons and make the decisions. Ask them, “what’s the right thing to do and why?”
What to expect
Expect your child to be more vocal about his/her thoughts and reason with you and their friends for every decision they make.
Psychology insight
It’s a myth that Peer pressure is always negative. Peer pressure can be a powerful tool to encourage each other to do what is right. It also helps in scoring better and working harder and smarter.

“Most people are not really free. They are confined by the niche in the world that they carve out for themselves. They limit themselves to fewer possibilities by the narrowness of their vision.”
