Summary of the lesson

 

This session is designed to polish and enhance analytical and problem-solving skills of the student. Using a combination of puzzles, riddles, and verbal reasoning questions, the child's analytical skills were honed. Many challenging puzzles were clubbed in the fun-based activities to tickle and sharpen the thinking power of the student. 

 

What your child will learn

• Applying logic to solve riddles 
• Observing minute details that are generally overlooked

How is it going to help your child 

 

Enhances attention span: concentrating selectively on a task to complete it. 

Spatial Awareness- acknowledging the relationship between objects and space around them.

Problem-solving skills: ability to solve problems efficiently.

 

Parental role & play

 

Engage in problem solving: You and your child can play riddles together and select at least five riddles a day. You can also make it more fun by competing who solves the riddle first. 

Ask your child: To figure out the puzzles that they observe around them and discuss it.  

Homework Puzzles: Try converting their homework into fun puzzles. 

Day to Day Fun: Create opportunities and encourage the child to apply these cognitive capacities in simple day-to- day activities.

Freedom: Allow them to make decisions and make inferences.

 

What to expect 

 

Expect the child to identify and differentiate between different types of analytical problems and solve them with different approaches.  

 

Psychology insight 

 

During the great depression, puzzles and riddles became a healthy escape from the worries of the economy and were found to enhance happiness and feelings of accomplishment. Introducing puzzles in daily tasks can help the child remain happier and more satisfied throughout the day.
