Summary of the lesson

 

In this session, the student learns what ‘Empathy’ means and why it is important. They understood that being empathetic is important for maintaining healthy  relationships. They learnt to introspect and try to put themselves in another person’s shoes to be able to understand them and their situation better.

Parental role & play 

 

LISTEN: Whenever your child is experiencing some overwhelming emotion,listen to them and show them how to empathise with others.

Don’t advise or scold them:  Let them assimilate how to show empathy

ROLE MODEL: You can start by empathising with them so they can learn

from examples. Children often learn by observing their parents.

 

What to expect 

 

Expect the child to try and understand other people’s situations. The child will

identify and resonate with the emotions of others and will know how to support

them in such situations. They will show empathy to everyone but guide them

and protect them if they fall into traps.

The development of empathy makes children able to acknowledge a wide

variety of emotions and it makes them better communicators and genuine

human beings. They are kind and compassionate people who can change the
