Summary of the Lesson 

The child identifies what a hobby is and what does having a hobby means. The different hobbies people cultivate/ have are showcased through a short story. The session also encourages the child to explore and find their hobby by reflecting on their interests. At the end of the session, the child recognizes that having a hobby and following it can relax their mind.

• To identify a hobby that can make them happy.
• Hobbies aren’t nurtured just for leisure.
• Working on hobbies can keep them entertained and relaxed.

How is it going to help your child 

 

It will help your child reflect on what they like to do and what makes them happy. It will also enhance their knowledge of other hobbies they might not have heard. In the long run, they will learn to identify things about themselves by observing and introspecting at their level and finding their happiness.

Expect the child to be excited about exploring new hobbies and finding time to incorporate in their schedule or nurturing an existing hobby diligently.

 

Parental Play & Role 

Encourage the child to try different activities and ask them to think if doing the activity they enjoyed or not. You can do these activities along with your child to observe if they seem interested or not.

Ask them questions, to encourage thinking out loud and reflecting about what they did and feelings associated with it.
