Why this course?

Description

Summary of the Lesson

This session aimed at challenging the fixed mindset of students about their learning tendencies and their attitudes towards failure. Using intriguing storyline and introspective activities, the student questiions  their pattern of thinking and adopts a healthy belief system which assumes that learning and intelligence can be developed overtime.

What your child will learn

  • How to thrive in the face of adversity.
  • Effort oriented learning instead of outcome orientation.
  • Accepting failure as a part of future success
  • Believing that one can do anything if one puts enough effort.

How is it going to help your child

  • Resilience: the child will accept failure as a part of learning.
  • Flexibility: the child will unlearn the limiting beliefs and start to feel that they can achieve what they want.
  • Effort orientation: evaluating their own success by the amount of effort they put in instead of outcome.

What to Expect

Expect the child to use prefix and suffix efficiently and to apply their  vocabulary skills to communicate better.

Parental Play & Role

Show your failures in a positive light:  You can become the ideal role model for your child by highlighting your learnings from failures and how you have overcome them.

Praise the child’s efforts not outcomes: Make your child inculcate the habit of evaluating their efforts instead of the outcome by rewarding their efforts.

Avoid labels: Instead of labelling the child or telling them what they can’t do, believe in their strengths and ability to do anything they put effort into.
