Summary of the Lesson 

 

A good introduction helps in developing social skills and forming positive relationships. In this session, the student explores the qualities and characteristics that define them and learns how these different components include their identity as a whole. Apart from introducing oneself, the student also studies  how to introduce their friends and family members. 

 

What your child will learn 

 

W: What are the components of an identity

H: How to appropriately introduce oneself.

O: Observe the non-verbal ways of communicating confidence. 

A: Acknowledge family and friends as a part of their identity. 

M: Manage the task of introducing your family and friends to others. 

I: Identify their qualities and characteristics.

What to Expect 

 

Expect the child to be able to express their identity and their family and friend’s identity using both verbal and non-verbal communication. 

 

Parental Play & Role

Let the child explore: The child is still in the exploratory phase of self identity at this age. Try to encourage the child to try as many hobbies, activities and personal goals as possible. This will help them get a clearer picture of who they are and what they like.

Allow them to explore themselves and understand how they project their abilities and capabilities. It is essential to learn to introduce themselves and identify their strengths, hobbies, and goals
