Summary of the Lesson 

 

In this session, “Listening Skills” is about listening to the instructions properly instead of just hearing. The story revolves around a camp trip where the students have to concentrate and find a solution.The student learns to listen attentively and follow.Complex instructions, interactive and fun activities to deduce the reaction time and extract accurate answers.Active listening is an essential component in building Emotional Intelligence.

What to Expect 

 

Expect the child to be more attentive in class and at home. They will remember minute details about any thing/ situation/ event/ conversation/ discussion in a better manner.

 

Parental Play & Role 

Straight forward instructions: Try to be clear while giving instructions to the ward. Give them complex steps and ask them to follow accordingly. The child will also learn to remember and retrieve information. 

Repeat instructions: Try to repeat the instructions or encourage the student to ask questions if something is unclear.

Don’t tell the child what to do, let them comprehend instructions and complete the task. Then discuss where they went wrong.

 

Psychology Insight 

 

There is a difference between hearing and listening. Hearing is more casual than listening. Active listening requires conscious registration of information in selective areas.
