Why this course?

Description

Summary of the lesson

In this session, the child learns the spirit of never giving up and keeps trying through a story. The story is about a duckling that learns not to give up until it wins a swimming competition. The session is focused towards overcoming fears, building confidence and motivating him/her to try harder to achieve what they want to. The child also learns to identify the larger picture and make a decision.

What your child will learn

  • Anyone can have fear and it is a normal emotion
  • How to  face and remove  their fears and be brave.
  • How to be  resilient and keep trying to achieve something.
  • How to choose and make decisions even if they are scared.

How is it going to help your child

  • The session helps your child to be motivated and face situations effectively.
  • They recognize and understand the need to overcome fear, be hopeful, resilient and work harder to reach a set goal.
  • Prepare the child to be brave and encourage him/her to face tough situations.

Parental role & play

  • You should be more patient when the child isn’t willing to take the first step.
  • Motivate the child to be brave and work harder.
  • Remind the child that you are there to help him/her in need.
  • Watch some short movies/ cartoons like Kung Fu Panda, etc. along with the child to motivate and help him/her realise that even he/she can overpower fears as in the movie.

What to expect

Expect the child to be brave enough to face difficult situations.

Sometimes, they might take up bigger tasks but don’t discourage them, instead encourage them to complete the task without anticipating the result.

Psychology Insight

It is necessary to inculcate the skill of resilience and spirit of never giving up in a child. It will resonate in everything the child does because he/she is mentally strong enough to take up challenges and build an optimistic and hopeful environment around them from a young age.
