Language: English

Instructors: Pepkidz

Why this course?

Description

Summary of the lesson

In this session, the student identifies signs of passive aggression in their peers or other individuals around them through a storyline, introspection and activities. The student will be  encouraged to appropriately deal with the passive-aggressive individual by finding a pattern, communicating and addressing the issue, and holding the individual accountable.

What your child will learn

H: Handle social relationships effectively

I: Identify the signs of passive-aggressive behaviours

D: Discuss situations where these behaviours can be seen

D: Differentiate between active and passive behaviour

E: Empowering the child with multiple ways of dealing with such behaviour

N: Nurturing resilience and cooperative spirit in the child

How is it going to help your child

  • Building healthy relationships
  • Identifying red flags in social interactions
  • Taking appropriate action against passive aggressive behaviour

What to Expect

Expect the child to identify the difference in active and passive aggression, spot such behaviours and take appropriate actions in such situations.

Parental Play & Role

  1. Normalise expressions of anger and resentment: Try to make the child normalise anger just like other emotions and channelize them to express it.
  2. Show them the difference: By giving examples, ask the child to identify the differences between active and passive aggression.
  3. Encourage them to talk about their problems instead of feeling anger. Pent-up anger can result in unhealthy relationships and anger issues with everyone around them.

Psychology Insight

At times, humour or sarcasm can also signify passive-aggressive behaviours. So before making your child brush off the humorous comments of others, please do not whether it is a form of passive-aggressiveness or not.
