Summary of the Lesson
This session aims at fostering the foundation for reading skills in the student. Using play-based activities and introspections, the student learns appropriate synonyms, antonyms, adjectives and employs critical thinking skills to summarise and deduce general and specific information from the text.

What to Expect
Expect the child to read tough text, be curious about finding synonyms and antonyms of different words and add new words to their existing vocabulary.
Parental Play & Role
Newspaper mornings: Help the child inculcate the habit of daily reading. Help them identify the structure of sentences and words by asking them to prepare five synonyms and five antonyms for a word.
Library visits: Take the child to libraries and bookstores and let the child select a book of their liking, You too can choose to read a book, and you both can discuss your books with each other.
Psychology Insight
Reading enhances memorization skills and retrieval of information. Reading can help in making connections between different plots or seemingly unrelated information and helps one remember information better.
