Description

Summary of the lesson

 

This session aimed at helping the student become a team player and respectfully consider others' viewpoints and contributions to the team. Meanwhile, also put across their viewpoint assertively. The student will learn how to take the initiative within a team and be accountable for their actions.

 

What your child will learn 

  • Accountability: the child learns  to be a responsible member of the
  • Team spirit: the child learns  how to be a productive and cooperative team member.
  • Initiative: how to be initiative and lead the group when needed.

How is it going to help your child 

 

Leadership: Helps the child in understanding how leaders behave.

Interpersonal relationships: the child will be more understanding and flexible to others' viewpoints.

Self-esteem: Helps the child in asserting themselves with confidence.

 

What to Expect 

 

Expect the child to be able to work in teams and be assertive yet open to listening to others' viewpoints. Also expect the child to take initiatives and hold themselves accountable for their work.

 

Parental Role & Play 

 

Simulate team: Simulate family environment as a team when working on a collective  task. For example, in order to clean the house, allocate responsibilities to every family member and make them accountable for their own tasks. This will help the child understand how the team functions.

 

Psychology Insight 

 

Social loafing: Psychologists define this phenomenon as lack of personal accountability in team settings due to diffusion of responsibility. This can be prevented by inculcating accountability in the individual. Help the child navigate through this feeling and motivate the child to give their 100% even in team settings.
